Soft pastel locks on softshells, hard shells, gym bags, and weekend kits. A lookbook while the journal keeps growing.

Travel lock detail on luggage

Colour, metal, and the bags they ride on

BagLock finishes sit in cool sky, rare blush, and quiet ink. The gallery shows how those tones read on fabric shells, moulded hard cases, and everyday packs. None of these frames replace a try-on. They help you shortlist before Observatory or Rosebank.

Reading the frames

Softshell frames favour Cable Loop and Softshell Zip. You will notice how a flexible cable sits flatter against fabric than a tall shackle. Hard-shell frames favour SACAA Duo and Suitcase Combo, where the dial clears the moulded zip track and the body stays quiet in an overhead bin.

Gym and school frames show compact clips that open without a drama in a crowd. Practice the dial once under the same light you will use later. Stadium and market days punish locks that stick when you are already late. A five-minute drill at home beats a shouted plan at the gate.

Weekend and beach frames are about kits, not single locks. Family pouches need labelled homes for every cable. Coach tours need a spare clip for the midweek gym stop so travel locks stay on the suitcase. Photograph the code card before you leave the stockist floor.

We shoot for colour honesty more than glamour. Highveld dust and coastal salt change how coatings photograph. What you see here is close to the tray at Observatory and Rosebank. If a finish looks warmer on your phone than in the room, trust the room. Bring the bag. PDF grain never behaves like the nylon on your lap.

When a frame sparks a question, mail hello@baglock.co.za with the image name and your bag type. We point you to the matching lock page or book a try-on. The journal and guides carry longer notes on SACAA routines, cable care, and packing kits for school terms.

Lookbook frames also help trade partners brief shelves. When a supplier asks which pastel to put forward for school term or December travel, we point at two or three frames and the matching lock page instead of mailing a full PDF. That keeps the conversation short and the tray honest.

Nothing here is a substitute for the stockist appointment. Light in a browser and light on Lower Main Road will always differ a little. If you are choosing for a team kit or a coach group, book Observatory or Rosebank and we will stage a mixed finish set so everyone can try the dial under the same lamp.
